This is inviting you to help shape the development of policy aimed at ensuring that all West Sussex County Council services are preparing for the impact of an ageing population.
It is widely known that there are disproportionate numbers of people in particular age groups now, which is likely, over the next twenty years, to have significant implications for the provision of health and social care services.
West Sussex County Council's Cabinet Member for Adults' Services and Chairman of the Adults' Services Select Committee have commissioned a Members' Task and Finish Group to develop policy that looks at what other services (not Adult Services or Health) need to consider in order to meet the needs of people as they get older over the next 20 years.
The Task and Finish Group has been asked to develop policy to ensure that decisions made in other services help support people to remain independent for as long as possible and reduce the impact on social care and health services.
The Task and Finish Group is Chaired by Graham Tyler, who is joined by County Councillors Robert Dunn, Anne Hall, Simon McDougall, Angie Mills and Margaret Whitehead.
This meeting is open invite and would be grateful if you could share this information with anyone you feel would be interested in contributing. I would just ask that people let me know, ideally by Friday 2nd March please, if you/anyone else does intend to come so that
