This well established organisation contacted the EESI project in need of new ideas to fund their project. The organisation had previously received Lottery Funding and also received regular donations both from private individuals and grant making trusts.
The staff and trustees used books to identify grant making trusts to apply to but found this tme consuming and becoming less effective.
A meeting was held with the 3 members of staff at which their current situation was discussed. In talking through the specifics of the organisation, I was able to immediately suggest grants that I felt the organisation would be moe than eligible to apply to.
The organisation was made aware of a upcoming fundraising training course that was taking place in Horsham which would help build the skills of both staff and trustees. The organisation was made aware of useful websites that would benefit them in searching for for funding, these they were previously unaware of.
It was also agreed that the EESI worker would carry out a specific funding search, and also contact the lottery to establish whether they would be eligible for Reaching Communities.
Due to the intervention of EESI, the organsiation has enhanced and built on its fundraising skills from attending the training course.

This organisation had recently been involved in the negotiation with the District Council of the representation of the local community's views regarding a local park. The organisation were keen to have a document setting out terms of reference for the District Council and organisation discussing the local issues together.
The Polish Community Worker approached me to discuss what support could be provided to a group of Polish individuals, who were potentially looking to set up a new local community association.
A local parent with a background in cooking professionally had been offering her time to local schools delivering cooking activity workshops to local children. In the main this activity had received no external funding; however donations of food were made by a local supermarket.
