Support for the voluntary sector in West Sussex

HOT OFF THE PRESS is the announcement from the Home Office that the vetting and barring scheme, under which staff and volunteers working with children and vulnerable adults would have to register to be checked by the Independent Safequarding Authority, has been halted and will be remodelled. Faith Matters in West Sussex took place on the 19th May, a pilot event promoting joint working with the Faith Sector and Voluntary and Community Sector. Over 50 organisations were represented.

Peter Bottomley, MP for West Worthing began with a key note address on the strengths of a multi-faith society and the advantages of joint working.
